Neal Patel, who is one of the foremost search engine optimization experts in the industry, created this info graphic that outlines a formula for writing the perfect headline.

Among Neal’s tips for  how to write the perfect headline:

  • Keep it Short and Sweet: The best headlines get to the point with a character count of 65 or less and a word count of 6 words or less!
  • Use Interesting Adjectives:  For those of us who might have forgotten, an adjective is a word that describes a noun.  The right adjective will make all the difference when someone is deciding to click or not click.
  • Use Numbers:  Numbers are attention-getters, and the more specific the number, the better. For example, it’s better to use, “How I saved $349 on car repair,” versus “How I saved hundreds on car repair.”
