Social Media Marketing in Real Estate: What all businesses can learn.

Recently I interviewed Jay Thompson, owner of Thompson’s Realty in Gilbert, Arizona, about how he has used social media to attract new customers from all over the world and generate over 90% of their business!
Jay gives some fabulous marketing tips on this video.  Here are just a few of them.

1.  Social Media Marketing takes time.

There’s no such thing as overnight success.  It took almost a year to see a return on his investment in social media.  And after 5 years, social media, especially blogging, generates over 90% of his business.

2.  Social Media Marketing takes commitment.

Not only did it take close to a year to see results, it took a commitment to participating in social media on a regular basis.  Jay credits most of his success to his blog, which he updates on a weekly, and sometimes daily, basis.

3.  Social Media Marketing takes guts.

Jay is not afraid to put himself out there, to be himself and to say what’s on his mind.  He may not always be politically correct, but it’s that authenticity and genuineness that has drawn clients and new agents to his company.
There are more great tips in this video interview.  What did I miss?  Post your comments here!
